Martial Arts Choreography Workshop for Artists and Creators “Hualian -結” Martial Arts Choreography Workshop for Artists and Creators “Hualian -結”This session is designed to provide a special choreography lesson for individuals who have mastered various martial arts, dances, traditional dances, new sports, kung fu, etc., regardless of their field, as well as those who have experienced basic practices of martial arts from around the world. It is not a typical choreography session where movements are choreographed for you.”A true dancer doesn’t need a choreographer. You are your own choreographer.” – MasterOur martial arts choreography team believes that true dancers don’t need choreographers. It’s outdated to have someone else “think” about the movements for you to dance or perform martial arts. This approach doesn’t nurture your true creativity. You are not a puppet controlled by a choreographer.Great martial artists, dancers, and performing artists all find their movements from within. Rather than thinking about movements in your head, true performers let their bodies speak, allowing their body, mind, and soul to communicate and harmonize, becoming one entity to create infinite movements and flow. As far as we know, true performers do not require choreographers. They are their own choreographers. A series of choreography is not just an expression of techniques but a story, a narrative, a poem, and a song. True performers intuitively grasp the flow and can even express it through improvisation. We don’t need choreographers anymore. It’s a time when you are your own choreographer. You merge your body, mind, soul, and sensibility, expressing a single story through movement. In this session, drawing from my experiences of collaborating and promoting with Korean and Asian performance artists, including K-pop and boy groups, and after years of joint productions and promotion activities, I want to explore martial arts choreography with all of you based on my experiences, especially focusing on K-pop artists and groups. We will provide you with various bodywork moves, kung fu moves, and traditional Asian martial arts movements to inspire you and give you ideas for your own choreography. We will not alter or teach pseudo techniques. The movements we teach are pure, passed down from the Song dynasty, representing the true essence of tradition. The goal is to bring out diverse movements and allow you to creatively incorporate them into your own choreography. Whether you choose to incorporate them into your routine, apply them for inspiration, or develop your own routines, it’s up to you. As martial arts choreographers, we will assist you in creating together. It’s a collaboration. We respect the styles aimed for by dancers and performing artists, and we aim to broaden them by introducing new areas of study. We identify which movements best fit each individual’s personality and provide guidance on how to incorporate them effectively into performances or practice for artistic brilliance. This is not just a lesson; it’s a creative session where we co-create with you. We won’t focus on teaching specific techniques but rather offer a variety of martial arts movements, techniques, forms, and routines, which you can integrate into a cohesive movement style or work of art naturally, as needed. This session is not your typical physical movement lesson. It’s for professionals, aspiring professionals, amateur artists, dancers, performers, actors, and idols (please apply based on personal interest) who want to refine their expression, apply martial arts techniques to art, and have received at least two years of basic and advanced lessons at our studio. This session is a deep inspiration session for those who want to utilize martial arts for artistic movement creation, where you become the choreographer of your own movements. It’s important to emphasize that martial arts techniques do not automatically equate to choreography or art. It’s something that becomes reflective of art over years of practice, often without realizing it, as it subtly influences and inspires. While some incorporate martial arts and breakdancing from the outset, this session focuses on teaching martial arts in its pure form without forcibly integrating it into art. We will present a wide range of movements tailored to individual needs and current dance trends, but we will never alter traditional movements or teach pseudo techniques. Especially altering traditional movements of the Wudang school without the permission of the masters or teaching them in a simplified or modified manner is strictly prohibited. Only masters are authorized to do so.Therefore, the movements we teach here are pure and come directly from the Song dynasty, representing the true essence of tradition. We will help you bring out diverse movements and empower you to apply them flexibly. Whether you’re incorporating them into your art, finding inspiration, or developing your routines, it’s up to you. We’ll be there to assist you as martial arts choreographers. It’s about creating together, collaborating, and enhancing the styles aimed for by dancers and performing artists. We’ll guide you on which movements best suit your individuality and how to incorporate them effectively for more radiant artistic expression. This is not just a lesson; it’s a creative session where we co-create with you.
